They say paint hides a multitude of sins. the reality is that painting is a super exciting stage to be at, It makes the boat look a hell of a lot more finished, it waterproofs anything you hadn’t epoxy saturated, putting a coat of white undercoat on everything means that your boat changes overnight into a pretty white thing, it does mean however that you have a mountain of sanding ahead of you.
I had made the decision to make my own fridge which was going to be a top loading freezer that had a thermo fan to pull cold air out of the freezer via to holes in the top to cool down a front opening fridge. I was going to use a eutectic solution to take advantage of the heat exchange properties that occur during the phase change of the eutectic solution, this being incredibly efficient if you get it dialled in right (70x heat absorption at the point of phase change) . I purchased the tank and compressor and some very high-density foam with a high r value to make the fridge/freezer out of, I calculated what heat loss I would have for the thicknesses of foam I was using and in the end it was a relatively simple process. the most important part being to have the most insulation in the floor to prevent the heat falling out.
