The cool thing about building a ply boat is that you build a lot of it as you go, this meant that the inside was completed at about the same time as the outside.
My in-laws returned early from there around Australia trip (I think my father in law was keen to see what the boat looked like) and asked if I could have the boat ready to be out of the yard by Christmas. this was mostly what i was on track to do as this was the commitment that I had given prior to building the boat. I think my mother in law was a little horrified at what had happened to her back yard but I assured her that it would be returned to as new when I was finished. I still had the whole of the outside to fair and paint and needed to knuckle down to every boat builders favourite job (fairing). The interior fitout was 90 percent finished and i had had some fun playing with lights and electrics. I still needed to make a catwalk and come up with a creative idea for the front tramps.
Finding it difficult to locate a quality steering wheel I made my own one of these as well

switchpanels kept nice and simple

home made light fitting, unfortunately the range of quality looking marine light fittings is scarce so i made my own

putting up timber edging to A look nice and B stop things from falling off shelves

timber all installed

light fitting going into ceiling space

additional bulb test

reading lights for the front single berths

more timber edging

my inlaws returned 6 mths earlier than expected in June of 07 and gave me 6 mths to get the boat finished and in the water. My father in law loved the project and spent a few hours after work every now and then giving me a hand

toilet vanity sink

oven installed

fairing compound has been applied now to most of the topdeck and side surfaces

front deck faired

i tried to find a nice steering wheel but couldn't and so decided to make my own, i routed out a patternmaking 2 halves and filled it with epoxy and qcell, i then laid in a some glass cloth followed by a whole lot of unidirectional glass and filled it with resin. the 2 halves were then glued together
