I think curves look amazing on boats and so i put them anywhere i could, the extra time it took was negligible to the outcome of what the boat looked like painted. A very good mate of mine Dave came around and gave me about 4 days help on the torture boards to get the sides looking perfect and then it was time to paint.
I finished off the steering but in a curious case of mistakes put the steering cable on the wrong end resulting in the steering being backward which i didn’t discover till we had put her in the water.
Along the way i priced up getting some stanchions and bow rails made up, when the quote came back around the 4500 mark i went and bought the 25mm pipe and taught myself to tig weld and fabricated up 18 stanchions and 2 sets of bow rails which i then sanded and polished these came up a treat and at a saving of around 3500 were well worth the experience of learning to Tig weld.
My beautiful wife did not have a lot of passion for the boatbuilding but was more than ready to give me a hand to mask up and no skid the boat over a couple of evenings
